Welcome to The Florida Times-Union E-Edition!

For more than twenty-five years, The Florida Times-Union’s Newspaper in Education program has developed partnerships with local corporate sponsors to provide area teachers and students newspapers in their classrooms. The newspaper is an ideal way for teachers to supplement dated textbooks, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills with fun hands-on activities, as well as add a sense of reality and real-life learning to the classroom.

Today, newspapers face a rapidly-changing, technologically-savvy audience. The E-Edition, an exact electronic replica of The Florida Times-Union, serves as a powerful tool for engaging these young, multi-tasking students. The E-Edition is a reliable and valuable resource for up-to-date information and a great way to introduce our young generation to the newspaper and digital NIE programs.

The use of newspapers in the classroom is a proven method of improving students’ reading abilities. Together with our high-quality lesson plans and curriculum guides, the Times-Union helps teachers prepare their students for the FCAT.

The Florida Times-Union will provide the E-Edition for use in your classroom and will offer the following:

  • Access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Archives of previous editions
  • Topic and word searchability
  • Access to Kid Scoop’s online curriculum library
